Western Emergency Management Association
Lower Frankford Township is a member of Western Emergency Management Association WEMA. WEMA is an intergovernmental organization that supports local municipalities that have joined its membership with storm related functions such as tree removal, flooding condition, evacuation, traffic control, and damages to structures. WEMA has the following equipment: pumps for flooded basements, generators for electric outages, lighting, and cages for small animals. WEMA assists local fire companies with storm related damages and evacuations. WEMA assists in local community events, Newville Fountain Fest and local fairs with lighting and generators.
Lower Frankford Township is situated in the north central part of Cumberland County, in south central Pennsylvania. The township is bordered to the south by the Conodoguinet Creek, to the east by North Middleton Township, to the west by Upper Frankford Township and to the north by the Perry County townships of Tyrone and Spring.
